To talk about our purpose, and our sport!
"The ocean has always been a salve to my soul ... but the best thing for a cut or abrasion was to go swimming in salt water. Later down the road of life, I made the discovery that salt water was also good for the mental abrasions one inevitably acquires on land. " -Jimmy Buffett

The sailing coach has no news to report.
Island Rec. report: Peter and Deb met with Sally Thomsen to discuss boat use fees and reported to the board.
We discussed the budget for 2010.
Various schemes and strategies were discussed about setting the boat use fee. Scott moved, Susan seconded that we propose to Island Rec a 5% increase over this year, and carrying the 5% over the next three years. This would amount to: 2010: $3,025.00, 2011: $3,175.00, and 2012: $3,335.00. Passed unanimously.
Peter will meet with Sally and finalize the boat fee and arrange the summer, 2010 class schedule.
Mary moved, Tony seconded that we approve the budget as submitted. Mary suggested that we change the boat use fee on the budget and pointed out that we need to do some serious fundraising. Mary and Tony tabled the motion until the next meeting.
Mike McDonald has offered to write/publish an article about the Sailing Foundation in the “At Home” magazine, and Scott suggested that Peter and Catherine get together and decide when to have him publish it. He will want to get pictures of the team sailing.
