How do we do it? Eager students!

"If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable."
- Seneca

As a result of an ongoing partnership with Island Rec., the SJI Sailing Foundation has been able to provide students aged 8 years through adults a chance to experience sailing. Prospective sailors move from an intitial basci sailing class through sloop training and into crusing or racing. Classes last from 3 hours a day for 5 days for basic to 6 hours a day for 5 days for intermediate and advanced classes. Multiple sessions are available for popular classes enabling low student to instructor ratios. Many students repeat classes if they are not old enough to continue to the next level or wnt to practice their skills.
