Do what? Sailing!

What do we do? We get people out on the water! The primary function of the San Juan Island Sailing Foundation is to provide the hardware (boats and related equipment), logistic support, and advice for the sailing programs and activities in out community.

• Provide a junior sailing program for the San Juan Island Yacht Club and the Friday Harbor Sailing Club and coordinate the program with Island Rec.

• Plan sailing classes, courses and regattas.

• Ebsure that certified instructors are available.

• Purchase and maintain boats that fit with the program needs such as: El Toros, Lasers and Vanguard 15's.

• Provide and maintain other essential equipment such as: chase boats, outboard motors, boat trailers, safety gear, docks and splash gear.

• Get the right boats to the right event on time.

• Find volunteers to help in any capacity at any event.

• Make the sailng environment as safe as possible.

• Raise funds to make sure all teh above actually happen.
